Elon Musk is moving forward with plans to build the largest chip factory in history, named 'Terafab,' in Grimes County, Texas. Initially announced in March with an investment of $20-25 billion, regulatory filings in May revealed the budget could escalate to $119 billion if all phases are completed. This project is a joint venture by Tesla, SpaceX, and initially xAI (which SpaceX later absorbed), with Intel joining as a manufacturing partner in April. Texas has granted SpaceX a $30 million subsidy, and the county approved a 78% tax exemption in exchange for $20 million annually for 35 years.
